Set-up Auction Types

In FWS you must create auction Types. Specific attributes will be later assigned to these auctions including consignment buyer’s premium rates, bid increments, custom terms & conditions under “Auction Defaults”.

Auction Types must be assigned to a System Type, including “Live Auction”, “Timed Auction”, “Buy-It-Now with Timed Auction”, “Buy-It-Now Auction”, "Continuous Buy-it-Now Auction" or "Display-Only Auction".

Important note: "System Type" auctions are default auction formats and have standard actions related to them, including email responders and website catalog layout formats. Certain classes of of Bidder Types are also associated with auction System Types and paddle ranges are assigned accordingly.

A "System Type" will also determine what the user sees on your website in terms of bidding actions, among other set-up procedures for each auction (e.g. a "Timed" auction will require closing times for each item and will handle bidders in a different manner than a "Live" auction).
