Auction Types
Publishing a Live/Absentee Auction
Once a Live/Absentee Auction has been created:
How to Display items for bidding on your website: (launch “View Lots” tab)
Items must first be assigned to the Live/Absentee auction
Items should be fully cataloged and photographed
Lot numbers should be assigned to every item in an auction by using the “Lot Numbering” tool at Auction Information/Lot Numbering. Items may also be assigned a lot number individually on the Item/Admin tab
When you are ready to post the item catalog to your website (launch “View Lots” button) for customer bidding: check the box “Publish Auction Catalog to Web” at the bottom of the “Basic Auction Information” page
Note: if you want to display a logo/link to an external Live bidding platform on your website (e.g.Bidsquare), be sure to select one provided on the auction set-up page. This is what it looks like on the website:
Check and make sure items are displaying on the website
Publishing a Timed Auction
Once an Timed Auction has been created
Set the Start Date and End Date on the “Basic Auction Information Page”.
The Start Date will allow auction to post to your website Upcoming Auctions page (if “Published” - see #2). The End Date will cause the auction listing to “time out” on the final day of the auction at midnight (unless extended bidding is taking place on any items).
At the bottom of the “Basic Auction Information page, check the box “Publish Auction to Web”. This will publish the auction information to your “Upcoming Auctions” area (this action may occur before items are available for bidding)
In order to display items for bidding in a published catalog:
Items must first be assigned to the Timed auction
Items should be fully cataloged and photographed
Lot numbers should be assigned to every item in an auction by using the “Lot Numbering” tool at Auction Information/Lot Numbering. Items may also be assigned a lot number individually on the Item/Admin tab
In a Timed auction, all Items must have a “Starting Price” set in Auction Information/Starting Prices (or individually under Item/Admin tab).
When you are ready to post the item catalog to your website (launch “View Lots” button) for customer bidding: check the box “Publish Auction Catalog to Web” at the bottom of the “Basic Auction Information” page
Check and make sure items are displaying on the website
Publishing a Buy-it-Now Auction
Once a Buy-It-Now Auction has been created:
Set the Start Date and End Date on the “Basic Auction Information Page”.
The Start Date will allow auction to post to your website Upcoming Auctions page (if “Published” - see #2). The End Date will cause the auction listing to “time out” on the final day of the auction at midnight (unless extended bidding is taking place on any items).

Generally, in a Continuous Buy-It-Now auction items are posted to the sale catalog on a continual basis. If you are not using Lot Numbers to order the sale, items will appear in the catalog based on their published date. However, Lot Numbers can be assigned to every item in an auction by using the “Lot Numbering” tool at Auction Information/Lot Numbering. Items may also be assigned a lot number individually on the Item/Admin tab
